ZITHROMAX, STRATTERA AND KETEK LIVER DAMAGE CLAIMS
Antibiotics are routinely processed through the liver and this can sometimes cause liver damage.
Zithromax (azithromycin) is a powerful antibiotic manufactured by Pfizer sold under the name "Z-pack". Lawsuits have been filed against Pfizer on behalf of patients who have taken Zithromax and suffered from liver and kidney damage. Only taking a few Zithromax pills can cause liver damage.
There are reports that Pfizer knew about potential side effects of Zithromax since 1998-99 but only changed their warning label when required by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration to do so in 2000. The warning label was modified to include the facts that liver failure, abnormal liver function, necrosis, and jaundice had been reported by some patients taking the drug.
Ketek is another powerful antibiotic linked to liver damage. On May 19, 2006 the FDA was able to link 12 cases of liver failure, which include four deaths to the antibiotic Ketek.
Strattera is an ADHD drug linked to liver problems.
Health Risks and Symptoms |
The symptoms associated with liver damage include:
In some extreme cases these symptoms can lead to liver failure, which requires a liver transplant. Liver damage, once it occurs, cannot be treated beyond stopping use of the drug that is causing the damage and managing the symptoms, as well as avoiding other medications that are processed through the liver.
If you or a member of your family has taken Zithromax, Ketek or Strattera and has symptoms or diagnosis of liver problems, then you may qualify for a lawsuit claim.
In America today there are thousands of mass lawsuits and billions of dollars in unclaimed monies available for victims. If you have been wronged by a major corporation, you may be entitled to compensation for treatments and pain and suffering |
